John O'Connell: Developing and Conquering

John O'Connell works exclusively as a developer with the Bleznak Real Estate Investment Group. He is a student at Georgetown University. What is the title of your company? I work as a Real Estate Developer with the Bleznak Real Estate Investment Group. My friend and I manage business technicalities for specific plots of land in South Carolina. How did you get involved with the Bleznak Real Estate Investment Group? My friend and I first got involved with Bleznak when we pitched a real estate investment plan to one of its top developers. He liked our plan and since then we have been in charge of overseeing all of the small details that go into specific property development. What are the goals of your company? As a developer, the goal to maximize profit . We are investing into the property, therefore our focus is improving the land in a business sense. I find out property specific information and put together databases of information. I do this so that I can provide the best information one would need to know about the property. How do you achieve the balance between school and working with real estate? I have great skill in time management therefore achieving a sound balance has not been hard for me. Where do you see yourself in the next five years? In the next five years, I hope to see myself as a graduate of Georgetown Business School. I also hope to have a few strong businesses established. I can visualize the business that I am in now and other business ventures being greatly beneficial. What motivates you, what’s a phrase you live by? I live my passion. I believe that every individual deserves to be in control and enjoy what he or she doing. Mr. O'Connell can be contacted at jho9@georgetown.edu
